New on SI: NFL Rumors: Buccaneers Not Interested in Signing Antonio Brown

Tom Brady and Antonio Brown played one game together as Patriots teammates last season, and it doesn't look like they'll be reuniting in Tampa Bay.

After rumors surfaced Tuesday that the Buccaneers might be interested in Brown,

ESPN's Dianna Russini reported the team is not looking at the free-agent wide receiver. 

The news doesn't come as a shock after Bucs coach Bruce Arians said in 2019 that he's not a fan of the changes he's seen in Brown over the years. During Arians's tenure as the Steelers' offensive coordinator, the team selected Brown in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL draft. 

"There's too much miscommunication," Arians said. "Too much diva. I've heard so many stories. I like Antonio. He plays as hard as anybody on Sunday and he practices hard. He's just gotta make better decisions off the field, be on time, do some of those little things."

Brown missed most of the 2019 season after the Patriots released him in September, and he has repeatedly stated his desire to return to the NFL.

  • One team source told ESPN's Josina Anderson that the team is under the "impression that Colin Kaepernick still wants to play, and that conversation was positive." Another team source expressed the difficulty over not being able to hold individual free-agent workouts yet.
  • After the Patriots signed Cam Newton, speculation mounted that Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. might land in New England. Beckham shut down those rumors when he responded to comedian Bob Menery's tweet by saying, "Lol no sir boss! But y’all got my brother, wishin nothin but the best and LUV." 
  • The NFLPA has asked agents to speak to players about risk factors that could make them more susceptible to illness as a result of the coronavirus. The NFLPA's letter said agents should give players the information provided by the Centers for Disease Control, and players should consider reviewing it with their personal physicians. Jaylen Waddle went from suffering a presumed season-ending ankle injury to winning  the national championship last season.  He's now headed to the NFL after the Dolphins selected the wide receiver at No. 6 in the 2021 NFL draft.  Waddle started the 2020 college season with a bang at Alabama last fall, topping 120 receiving yards in four consecutive games to start the season. New on SI: Report: Packers GM Stands Firm, Still Against Trading Aaron Rodgers

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is contractually obligated to report to the team's mandatory three-day minicamp starting June 8. Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst is reportedly "still holding firm" to not trade quarterback Aaron Rodgers this offseason, according to The Athletic .  The report cites the upcoming week as a critical point in the ongoing saga. If the team waits until after June 1 to trade Rodgers, it will save $16.05 million in cap space. Meanwhile, Rodgers is not contractually obligated to report to the team until June 8 when a mandatory three-day minicamp begins.  If the reigning MVP does not show up, he would be fined $15,515 for the first day, $31,030 for the second day and $46,540 for the third day, under the current collective bargaining agreement.
